per Lucerna, Newton & Co was at 3 Fleet Street from 1858 until 1912. - JK

The 1889 World's Fair used the Eiffel Tower as it's centrepiece. Per the website https://www.toureiffel.paris/en/the-monument/universal-exhibition [accessed 23/11/2020] : "Already festive, the Eiffel Tower lit up every evening with the light of hundreds of gas lamps protected by opal glass cases. A tricolour beacon, housed in the campanile, sent out three signals of blue, white, and red light over Paris (using two mobile projectors mounted on a circular rail at the top)."
