Interpreted as a 'henge'; part of ritual landscape including Stones of Steness; located on Ness of Brodgar and composed of ring (diam. 103.6m) of stones which vary in height (2.1m/4.7m) - of original 60 (?) megaliths only 27 remain; enclosed by massive rock cut ditch with two entrance causeways. (P.Day)
